My visit to M.Y. Beauty Lounge
M.Y. Beauty Lounge is a full service salon and spa located in Simpsonville, SC. They offer an array of services that include hair, make-up, skin, and nails. They opened in July, and have been steadily growing in business, making them one of the fastest growing businesses in the area! Keep reading to find out more info about them, and how my visit was!

When you first walk in, the warm colors automatically make you feel calm. They have four rooms to accompany your needs, and the staff make you feel so right at home! The welcoming smiles you get are also a plus! They are a one-stop-shop for makeovers, so this is definitely a place you want to check out! Skin Specialist
Mattie is inspired and captivated by the natural beauty of healthy and glowing skin; it is what lead her to become an aesthetician. Mattie has years of experience in the beauty industry, graduated top of her class, and has received certification in countless
postgraduate studies such as chemical peels, aromatherapy, sugaring, waxing, and makeup artistry.
Her love of beautifying and nurturing the skin, and seeing her clients smile is the driving force behind her success and love of aesthetics. Skin is an amazing organ with many complexities, and each person has their very own distinct skin issues. It is very rewarding for Mattie to educate her guests and correct the issues that are taking away from skin looking and feeling its best: unwanted hair, acne, sensitivities, rosacea, hyperpigmentation, fine lines, and wrinkles. Mattie offers customized service for everyone.

Hair Specialist
Yesiangel loves fashion and has a passion for learning the new, fun trends for nails and hair artistry. Her intelligence, creativity, and sense of humor make her clients’ time in her chair enjoyable, comfortable and full of fun. Her love for the beauty industry stems from the years of apprenticeship with Master Stylist Janette Martinez and Esthetician Mattie Rodriguez. When she is not on-location, executing amazing styling, she is busy honing her creativity and talent at the salon.

My Day
To start off my makeover, Mattie started my “brow rehab” by talking to me about how I wanted my eyebrows to look, and what my style routine was. Next she started tinting my brows, which felt quite relaxing. All I felt was her brushing my brows a lot, then a slight tingle.
After my brows were tinted, she then started to shape them by sugaring. This was the first time I had gotten sugared, and it was awesome! It’s a lot like waxing, except it’s not as hot, and doesn't irritate the skin as bad. It’s a mixture of sugar, lemon, and hot water, so there are no chemicals! It’s applied against the direction of the hair, then pulled out in the direction of the hair so help lessen the sting. Mattie talked with me the whole time, so I was relaxed and wasn't anticipating the pull out of the hair. Once that was done, she cleaned up a few hairs with tweezers, and voila! My brow-hab has begun!
Next was makeup and hair. Both Mattie and Yesiangel her so nice and helpful! They took me step-by-step so I would then be able to do it myself (or at least attempt it). They are such a fun group to hang out with and I can't wait to go back!
