Here are some answers to commonly asked questions. For any other questions, please feel free to call during regular business hours and someone will be glad to assist you.

Q: Do I have to have an appointment to try on wedding gowns?
A: Appointments are not required, but HIGHLY recommended throughout the week, but are required for Saturdays. Walk-in are welcome, but having an appointment will ensure undivided attention with a bridal consultant at a time that is convenient to you.

Q: How far in advance do I need to order my dress?
A: Wedding gowns take about 4-5 months to come in from date of order, but you also want to take in consideration time needed for alterations and bridal portraits. If necessary, we can also do a RUSH order to receive gowns as early as 4 weeks depending on designer and style.

Q: What is the price range of your wedding gowns?
A: Our designer bridal gowns start around $1300 and go up to $4000 with the majority of our dresses falling in the $2,000 – $3,500 range.

Q: Do you ever allow for gowns to be sold “off the rack”?
A: Yes, we have a selection of sample gowns that have either been discontinued or replaced with newer merchandise that we offer at 50% – 70% off retail pricing. This is a great option for budget conscious brides and also brides with short engagements that may not otherwise have time to order a gown.

Q: Do you sell veils at your store?
A: Yes, we have ready-made veils available for purchase. We also make custom made veils in store to match and compliment your wedding gown perfectly!

Q: How long does it take for bridal fittings/alterations and how much do they cost?
A: We prefer to have 6 – 8 weeks prior to your wear date for bridal fittings. This includes what we call two “good” fittings and a final fitting. In extreme circumstances, we can do rushed alterations. We also accept dresses not purchased in our store. Fitting/ alteration costs vary on a gown to gown basis.

Q: Other than wedding gowns, do you also carry bridesmaid dresses and evening wear?
A: Absolutely! At The Poinsett Bride you will find whatever you need in preparing for your (or someone else’s) big day! Besides wedding gowns, we offer a large selection of bridesmaid and mother of the bride dresses, evening and cocktail wear and a growing selection of stylish, everyday wear! You do NOT need an appointment to look at non-bridal wear.

Q: What about bridal and evening accessories?
A: We carry a wide selection of jewelry, headpieces, custom and ready made sashes, cocktail purses, and shoes to meet your every need.
