My Wedding Group is more than a collection of Wedding Professionals serving couples in the Upstate, South Carolina area. The vendors are a family. Similar to a family, the members of My Wedding Group maneuvers, and functions like one as well. That is why when Dennis Slusser, of Fun in The Sun Adventures and Vacations, was ready to pop the big question to his wife-to-be, he was in good hands. He knew from the start that he wanted members of his “family” to help plan his Disney-themed wedding. We sat down with both him and his wife, Brantlee, and ask about their wedding process.

“First, I have to ask how did you two meet?”

Dennis and I actually met online through a dating website. First, we emailed each other which then led to chatting on the phone before finally deciding to meet at McAlister's Deli in Spartanburg on September 1, 2016. We met, had dinner, and shared childhood memories, our hopes, and dreams. After our first date, I was off for a girls trip to the beach. While enjoying the sun and surf, Dennis called and texted. He just wanted to check on my trip and provided any helpful travel tips and advice on places to visit while there. When I returned home, Dennis and I continued to stay connected. Thanksgiving 2016, Dennis met my parents, and our life as a couple began.

“What stood out to you when working alongside not only these vendors, but your friends?”

Brantlee: We have developed special friendships with My Wedding Group vendors. We knew they were the experts in their field and totally trustworthy for our own big event. They had seen our relationship blossom and only wanted the very best for us. Oh boy did they bring out only their absolute best!

The Wheelers and staff at the Gassaway Mansion provided the most beautiful atmosphere, flowers, décor, and food for our ceremony and reception. They went all out Disney for us! Dennis and I had shared our vision for our wedding, and they made each dream a reality. When I saw the reception tent before the ceremony, I just cried with excitement and astonishment of how perfect everything looked. I remember telling Colleen, "Who needs Walt Disney World? Disney is right here!"

For engagement pictures, bridal portraits, and wedding photos, we chose Noveli Wedding Photography with Stephen and Summer Gossett. Absolute perfection! Dennis and I had the best time posing for all of our photos and have received so many compliments and "Wows!" on all of our finished photographs.

Collaboration between Holly's Cakes and Jumping Jukebox provided the most magical and beautiful Disney wedding projection cake. The four-tiered cake had various flavors for each tier which was moist and most delicious. The icing was the absolute sweetest just like it's creator, Holly Bowers

Jumping Jukebox provided the music for our wedding ceremony and entertainment for our reception. Blake Vaughn and his staff definitely know how to get the party started and how to keep it going. Our guests were up and moving parts of their bodies we didn't know they could move! Everyone had an absolute blast celebrating our union.

For our big dance, Dennis and I knew we had to snatch Susan Palmer, owner of Palmer Dance Studio, to choreograph our first dance. We met with Susan for six dance lessons which were phenomenal. She made a person with two left feet look like Fred Astaire out on the dance floor.

Seeing how all these vendors responded to their previous clients and their finished product for each customer, we knew we had hired the best. Most importantly, we are truly blessed with their friendship and love. We're most grateful to be a part of such a caring, energetic, fun group we're proud to call our friends.
